Here's how it works  List your home with us and after settlement we will make a donation in your name to the Humane Society or Potomac Lab Rescue. For example, if your home sells for $100,000, the donation will be $100. If it sells for $1,000,000, we will donate $1,000 and so on. It’s a great opportunity to help house and feed homeless dogs, cats and other wonderful needful pets of Montgomery County or Frederick County.

Chuck & Linda adopt dogs  Long time county residents, we have adopted all four of our Labrador Retrievers as well as 2 cats and a wild rabbit who refused to leave our porch. 

We’ve loved all of our animals, but the Lab-Chow mix named Malcolm from the Montgomery County Animal Shelter was a Mama’s boy and one of Linda’s favorites. Winter evenings often found 85 lb Malcolm warming Linda’s lap. He taught the dog next door to howl when the fire engines roared by and entertained us with his sweet “smile”.

Our pure bred black Lab, Dakota (pictured in the header), was adopted in 1998 through Lab Rescue. He was our longest living dog at 12 1/2 years. We just lost this wonderful boy in September of this year, 2009. He loved his home. If he accidently got outside the fence, he'd lay on the porch and not move until he was let back in. He loved playing tug toy with Ed, one of buddies that came to visit, and long walks around the lake. We also adopted Midas, a very loving older yellow lab that we only had for 3 years from Lab Rescue. 

Our new dog, Sadie, is pictured sitting with Chuck and Linda. Weighing 147 lbs when she was picked up by Lab Rescue in August of 2009, she reached her goal weight of 89 lbs in March of 2010. Treatment of her thyroid problem, exercise and a restricted diet enabled her to lose 60 lbs in 7 months! 

We appreciate all the wonderful work MCHS and Potomac Lab Rescue does educating us about, fostering, adopting out and caring for the pets of our county and surrounding area. We’d like to help them continue on with their mission.
